Let’s face it, January has nothing to offer apart from the fact that it’s the perfect moment to wear silk pajamas. They don’t have to be made of pure silk, crepe de chine satin, crepe de chine, or, frankly, a smidgeon of polyester will suffice.
The primary thing to remember is that they should glide across one’s body in a delicious but some might call impractical manner. However, anyone who says that would be ignoring the main important point.
The reason silk pajamas are so popular and their reason for having been so popular throughout the years is their weighty seamless, slippery feel and flowing hems, they are an item of clothing that lifts us out of the humdrum.
What else do you need from a piece of clothing whose sole intention is relaxation and leisure?
Particularly now, when the occasions to dress in a suit to go out are very rare. In silk pajamas, comfy women’s robes, and a nice dress, you are able to stay at home.

It’s not difficult to say that pajamas, no matter how lavish the fabric or exotic the pattern possess the same striking and glaring sexuality as lace underwear. The baggy pants and shirt even when they’re silk won’t always strike exactly the same note in the red-blooded male that other clothes that show more could. However, that doesn’t mean all men hate them.
I’m forced to admit that I’ve had I’m hankering after the extravagant glamorous look of a feather-trimmed pair of Sleepers I’ve seen them on Net-a-porter and imagined a gorgeously decorated set from Olivia von Halle, the most luxurious of PJs.
But, in the meantime, I’m in love with one of the pairs a friend gifted me recently, which came from the less expensive Silkwear catalog Patra. They’re in lovely blush-colored cream with fine pink silk trim, and are both thin, yet not at all transparent, not too loose, but also not bulky.
I’ve been cruising through the house in them in the last few months, slightly displeasing when I’m required to swap them for some proper clothes.
And they’re the best pair I’ve had for sleeping in and then waking up uncreased to face the day, in contrast to the majority of me.
